Inspired by Charlie’s fateful purchase in Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, the Scrumdiddlyumptious cocktail transforms his moment of pure indulgence into a rich blend of nutty, buttery, and chocolate flavors—capturing both the magic of Wonka’s candy and the life-changing surprise hidden within.   (Recipe Below)

With the extra money Charlie finds, he heads straight to Bill's Candy Shop to get some candy.  Overwhelmed by the opportunity to get whatever he wants, he asks Bill (Aubrey Woods) what to get and he suggests, "The Scrumdiddlyumptious...Wonka's latest and greatest invention a candy that can never be duplicated."  Perhaps in candy form, but we decided to duplicate the scrumptious part of the bar with a base of Peanut Butter Whiskey and Butterschnapps to give the cocktail the its nutty and toffee-buttery flavors.  For the delicious part, Hazelnut Liqueur, Crème de Cocoa and a few heavy dashes of Cocoa Bitters which give it that silky, chocolatey flavor.  Don't forget the Saline in this cocktail, it really brings up and together all of the flavors that make up this Scrumdiddlyumptious cocktail.  Give this cocktail a thorough stir with ice and serve it over a large cube with, you guessed it, a Golden Ticket right on top.  Charlie wolfed down the chocolate prompting Bill to warn him of a belly ache.  Charlie paused for a moment and decided that the chocolate was so good, he better buy a Wonka Bar for Grandpa Joe.  Little did he know- That bar had the Golden Ticket!  The excitement of winning this ticket magically heals Charlie's bed-ridden Grandpa Joe (Jack Albertson) into an inspirational song and dance.  They are off to see the Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory.

  • Screwball Peanut Butter Whiskey

    Country: United States

    ABV:  70 proof/35%

    Brand: Skrewball

    Spirits Type: American Whiskey

    Taste: Peanut, Honey and Vanilla

    Price Category: $$

A flavored American Whiskey made by redistilling whiskey (specific mash bill not available) with peanut and sugar added.  The result is an amber colored whiskey that is syrupy sweet and tastes strongly of peanuts similar to mixing peanut butter with honey.

  • Butterscotch Schnapps

    Country: United States

    ABV:  31 proof/15.5%

    Brand: DeKuyper

    Spirits Type: Liqueurs/Cordials/Schnapps

Taste: Warm, intense butterscotch, syrupy sweet

    Price Category: $

A brandy based liqueur that is neutral in flavor, then sweetened with sugar and mixed with caramel flavoring and color.  Texture and color is similar to a light agave syrup, but the flavor tastes just like the warm Werther's your grandpa used to give you to keep quiet.

  • Frangelico Hazelnut Liqueur

    Country: Italy

    ABV:  40 proof/20%

    Brand: Gruppo Campari

    Spirits Type: Liqueurs/Cordials/Schnapps

    Taste: Hazelnut, Herbal, Coffee

    Price Category: $

The origin of Frangelico starts with monks of Piedmont, Italy who would harvest hazelnuts to roast, ferment, distill and sweeten for a deliciously sweet and nutty liqueur.  That is why the bottle is in the shape of a monk's silhouette.  Still nutty and sweet, Frangelico is made by redistilling alcohol with hazelnuts, coffee, cocoa and vanilla bringing a balance of flavor to the monk's original recipe.

  • Dark Creme de Cocoa

    Country: France

    ABV:  54 proof/27%

    Brand: Drillaud

    Spirits Type: Liqueurs/Cordials/Schnapps

    Taste:  Chocolate, slight oaky vanilla

    Price Category: $

Strong cocoa flavor with a touch of savoriness that deepens and adds complexity to a cocktail.  Drillaud makes its crème de cacao by percolating the cocoa beans in a neutral spirit.  After percolating, a simple syrup is added along with vanilla.  It is filtered and additional spices may be added.

  • Salt/Saline

Salt/Saline is a great flavor booster.  It can balance sweetness and bitterness, smoothing out a cocktail.  It can also enhance citrus flavor and acidity without the need for more acid.

A pinch of salt can be added to the cocktail, but for consistency, saline is easy to make and allows more control.

    To Make It:

2 oz (60mL) Distilled or Purified Water

1 Tbsp (15g) Fine Sea Salt

Combine in a jar and shake vigorously.  Once salt is dissolved, pour into a dropper bottle.

  • Angostura Cocoa Bitters

    56 proof/48% ABV

    Angostura Limited

An easy way to add cocoa flavor to a cocktail.  Cocoa bitters will add depth of flavor to cocktails with its bitter chocolate flavor.

The mysterious allure of the Everlasting Gobstopper becomes a vibrant, multi-layered drink, each tier reflecting the candy’s shifting flavors and the film’s sense of curiosity and temptation. As the tour reveals the consequences of greed through the downfall of the other children, the cocktails echo both the extravagance and the risks of overindulgence.
